Hazrat Khawaja Moin ud deen Chisti Ajmeri (RA) say
BE BASU KI MADATH KARNA , MAJBORU KI ZARURATH PURI KARNA
BHUKU KU KHANA KHILA NA , AZAB DUZAQ SE MEHFUZ RAKH TA HAI
Subhan Allah.....
Khwaja Muinuddin(Radiallahu Tala Anh)and a Brahman
Around the Anasagar Lake where Khwaja Muinuddin (Radiallahu Ta’ala Anh) and his followers had moved, there were many temples. His followers used to draw water and sometime catch fish from the lake for their food. The Brahman priests of theses temples remonstrated against this and reported the matter to the Raja who ordered immediate removal of these ‘Muslim Fakeers’ from the place. The
servants of the Raja not only demanded Khwaja Muinuddin’s (Radiallahu Ta’ala Anh) movement from this place but also asked him in a very insolent manner to leave Ajmer at once. But it was impossible for Khwaja Muinuddin (Radiallahu Ta’ala Anh) to agree because he was there by the will of Allah Ta’ala and the command of Rasoolullah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam). When the rude crowd of Brahmans tried to mob and molest the innocent Fakeers with the ultimate intention of murdering them, Khwaja Muinuddin (Radiallahu Ta’ala Anh) only threw some dust upon them which caused them to lose their senses and vitality. Some of them ran away in terror and reported this incident to the Raja, who had much hatred for Hazrat Khwaja Muinuddin Chishti (Radiallahu Ta’ala Anh) and was trying to find a solution to remove him from Ajmer. Among the many temples there was a magnificent temple wherein the Raja and his courtiers used to
offer their worship. The chief priest of this temple was a very learned Brahman named Shadi Dev who was a bitter opponent of Khwaja Muinuddin’s (Radiallahu Ta’ala Anh) stay in Ajmer. When he heard about the abovementioned incident, he approached Khwaja Muinuddin (Radiallahu Ta’ala Anh) with a view to persuade him to leave the place. But as soon as he was face to face with Khwaja
Muinuddin (Radiallahu Ta’ala Anh), he was so over-awed by the Saint’s magnetic personality and spirituality that he forgot himself and could not resist the spontaneous urge to offer his obeisance to the great Saint. Asking for forgiveness for his misbehavior, Shadi Dev at once embraced Islam and became the first disciple of Khwaja Muinuddin (Radiallahu Ta’ala Anh) in Ajmer.
Khwaja Sahib (Rahmatullahi Allaih) got angry
Says Hazart Qutubuddin Bakhtiyar Kaki (Rahmatullahi Allaih), " I never saw Hazart Khwaja Gharib Nawaz (Rahmatullahi Allaih) angry with anyone as long as I remained with him. One day, Hazart Khwaja Gharib Nawaz (Rahmatullahi Allaih) accompanied me and a servant Shaikh Ali were going out. Suddenly a man caught hold Shaikh Ali of his clothes and started abusing him. Hazart Khwaja Gharib Nawaz (Rahmatullahi Allaih) asked the reason of the dispute. He said " Shaikh Ali is debtor and is not repaying the amount given to him." Khwaja Sahib (Rahmatullahi Allaih) said, "Leave him. He will repay your debt." But the man again insisted. So Khwaja Sahib (Rahmatullahi Allaih) got angry and he spread his shawl on the ground and asked to take from the shawl amount equal to the debt and warned not to take more than debt. The man picked up the money certainly more than the debt and soon his hand dried up. So he started crying and asked for mercy. Khwaja Sahib (Rahmatullahi Allaih) pardoned him and his hand recovered. The man immediately became the disciple of Khwaja Sahib (Rahmatullahi Allaih).
Gareeb Nawaz made him the Prime Minister Of Malaysia
The Malaysian President 'Tunku Abdul Rahman' on his visit
It will be useful to state here that the miracles always happen in all ages to reveal to and remind the universe that there is a Supreme power (divinity) in the universe. The Almighty has ever warned mankind not to transgress the limits of mankind, otherwise they will go astray.
When Janab Tunku Abdul Rahman was campaigning for his election as Premier without any hope of success, his Holiness Hazrat Khwaja Moinuddin Chishty( (Rahmatullahi Allaih)) commanded a local fakir in dream three times continuously to go to Tunku Abdul Rahman and inform him that he would win the election provided he promised to pay a visit to Ajmer Sharif for a Ziarat of the Khwaja Sahab’s Shrine. When the local fakir communicated this message to Tunku, he took the dream to be whimsical joke of the faqir. On the whole, he promised rather half-heartedly to go to Ajmer, if he succeeded. At last Tunku Abdul Rahman succeeded in his mission and became the Prime Minister of Malaysia.
Later, Tunku Abdul Rahman along with his wife paid a visit to the Holy shrine for a Ziarat on 25th October 1962. He become the royal guest of the Government of India. It is surprising that the Tunku did not even know the full name of Hazrat Khwaja Moinuddin Chishty ( (Rahmatullahi Allaih)), much less his Biography.

Gareeb Nawaz: when God makes you His friend, then He bestows upon you His love
Khwaja Gharib Nawaz says that shaykh Abu Sa'id Abi'l-Khair used to say that when God makes you His friend, then He bestows upon you His love. Once you imbibe His love, you will try to identify yourself with Him. At last He draws His friend towards Him, so that you may become one with Him.
Commentary: Shaykh Abu Sa'id Abi'l-Khayr has been one of the first Sufis who has made use of the quatrain as a teaching instrument: Gar dar safaram toi rafiq-e safaram
Var dar hazaram toi anis-e hazaram
Al-qisse be har kojaa ke baashad gozaram
Joz to nabud hichkasi dar nazaram
If I am travelling, my Friend during this travel is You.
If I am at home, my Companion at home is You.
In short, wherever I am and wherever I travel
I am thinking of nobody except of You.
Khwaja Gharib Nawaz, dwelling on the mutual love and sincerity of dervishes, says: “O dear one! Blessed are those dervishes of this time who sit together and show to each other mutual love and sincerity and thus they acquire inner purity. Bad indeed are those dervishes who do not meet each other and keep themselves aloof. Remember this is a bad thingâ€.
There were present mawlana Bahauddin, shaykh Awhaduddin Kermani and some other dervishes. The theme of the conversation was the type of trust ( tawakkul ) reposed by the Sufis in Allah. Khwaja Gharib Nawaz said that their trust in God should be such, that they need not ask help from anyone, nor they should look towards anyone nor they should pay any attention to anyone except Allah, the Elevated.
Khwaja Gharib Nawaz then narrated the story of the prophet Abraham, the friend of Allah, who was asked by the angel Gabriel as to what he wanted. The prophet replied that he had nothing to do with him. When Allah knows all, why should he then demand anything from anyone else.
Proceeding further Khwaja Gharib Nawaz said that shaykh Junayd was asked to define a God-illuminated person. He replied thus: “He is one whose heart refuses to repose trust on three things:
Firstly: Knowledge.
Secondly: Action.
Thirdly: Seclusion.
So long as someone reposes his trust on the three aforesaid things, his trust in Allah is not perfectâ€.
The lover's heart is a fireplace of love. Whatever comes in it is burnt and becomes annihilated. There is no fire greater in its intensity than the fire of love.
The noise of the lover is only up to the time when he has not seen his Beloved. Once he sees the Beloved he becomes calm and quiet, just as the rivers are boisterous before they join the ocean, but when they do so they are becalmed forever.
The ‘arif (the one with inward knowledge of God) is ever steeped in the love of the Friend. If he stands it is out of love for Allah. If he sits, he is busy in prayers. If he sleeps his thoughts are fixed on Him and when he awakes His memory is fresh in his mind.
Commentary: Men as well as women can receive the gift of love. Read for ‘he' also ‘she'. Shaykh Ibn al-‘Arabi has made it clear that all positions in the hidden spiritual hierarchy can be fulfilled both by men as well as women.
Gareeb Nawaz said, Whoever gained anything, gained by service..."
Khwaja Gharib Nawaz says that the Day of Judgment is a certainty. On that day when the true lovers will be called and if at that time someone amongst the lovers cried out establishing his claim to be a lover of God, he will, undoubtedly, thereby forfeit his claim of being sincere and constant in love. He will feel ashamed. He will have to hide his face from he true lovers. A voice will come out to the effect: "These claimants of love are not real lovers! Remove them from amongst Our lovers!"
Once Khwaja Gharib Nawaz, pointing to Khwaja Qutb Saheb said: ‘When I came in close contact with Hazrat Khwaja ‘Usman Harooni and subsequently I became his murid I passed eight years in such a way that I took no rest or respite'.
‘I renounced all comforts. My sole concern was as how best to please him with my devotion and service. When he used to undertake a journey I used to carry on my head his bedding and tiffin basket and thus used to accompany him'.
‘My pir-o-murshid, appreciating and recognizing my services and being pleased with me, at last conferred upon me such gifts which can neither be described nor circumscribed. I am thankful to him for all his gifts and kindness'.
Afterwards he said: “Whoever gained anything, gained by service. A murid should under no circumstance hesitate in carrying out the commands of his murshid. Whatever he may suggest, prayers and any routine, the murid should pay his fullest attention to it and should undoubtedly practice it. The murid should by earnestly following and obeying his spiritual guide, try to reach the place where the spiritual guide himself becomes the comb of his murid'.
‘It should be taken to heart that whatever the murshid persuades his disciples to do and to practice, it is for the benefit of the murid himself'.
Continuing his discourse he said: ‘Shaykh Shahabuddin Suhrawardi served his pir-o-murshid very devotedly and faithfully. He used to accompany his pir-o-murshid on pilgrimage and used to carry his luggage on his head. And on the return journey he did likewise'.
‘At last, by virtue of his devotion and service of his murshid, he got such blessings and gifts which are limitless and beyond description. The people cannot ever understand what the shaykh got and what benefit he derived from his murshid'.
One day, addressing all those present, Khwaja Gharib Nawaz said that imam Abu'l-Laith of Samarkand has written in his book entitled ‘Teera': “Every day there descend from the heaven two angels. One of them cries, saying: ‘O people! Listen to me and know it fully well that the one who does not fulfill his obligations to God, becomes surely deprived of His mercy. The other angel cries, saying: ‘He indeed alienates the sympathy and support of the Prophet Muhammad ( sal-lal-lahu alai hi wa sallam), who does not follow him'.â€
At another time Khwaja Gharib Nawaz emphasized that you should sleep clean, as when you sleep like this, on you are showered the blessings of God. God will then appoint an angel for you to remain with you till you awake. The angel prays for your salvation.
Commentary: A friend phoned me some time ago. He had visited the hill in Morocco with the grave of shaykh Ibn Mashish. When Shaykh Abu'l Hasan ash-Shadhili went to meet shaykh Ibn Mashish, he was sent back to purify himself. After performing the ritual ablutions he returned to shaykh Ibn Mashish, who however again asked him to go away and to purify himself. This repeated itself a number of times, until shaykh Abu'l Hasan ash-Shadhili realized that it was inner purification that was meant by shaykh Ibn Mashish.
At another meeting, addressing those present, Khwaja Gharib Nawaz said that prayer is the great necessity for the development of the soul. Prayer is a secret and a mystery, which you confide to God. Except in prayer there is no other opportunity available of expressing your own secret (to God). Prayer for the people is a trust of God. You should try to acquit yourself well.
Commentary: And remembering those of us who are not sure how to pray, a Sufi said: "If you cannot pray sincerely, then offer your dry, outward prayer, for God in His infinite mercy accepts bad coinâ€.
When you are in search of God you have to pass four stages. The first stage is that of shariat (Islamic law), the next stage is that of tariqat (the Sufi path) and the third stage is that of ma'rifat (inward knowledge of God). When you have proved yourself deserving and acquitted yourself well and when you have been constant and firm, then alone you reach the fourth stage, namely that of haqiqat (truth). Once you have reached that stage you get what you ask for.
At this time Khwaja Gharib Nawaz pointed out, that he heard a dervish saying that an ‘arif (someone with ma'rifat) is one who renounces both the worlds and frees himself thus.
Commentary: A Sufi said: “ Quit this world, quit the next world, quit quitting".
Once Khwaja Gharib Nawaz said, that we all have to go on the great journey. We should all try to equip ourselves properly for the same.
Commentary: Shaykh Ibn al-‘Arabi wrote:
O, sleeper!
So many people are in fact asleep.
You are called, so wake up!
God will replace you in everything
He asks from you,
If at least you'd be sleeping ‘by Him'!
But your heart is asleep
And is deaf to the appeal.
You are only awake in the world of creatures,
Which will destroy you
Each time that you die by its hand.
Take good care of your soul before its departure!
The provisions for the journey are not a certainty.
Miracle of Khawaja Garib nawaz
Aauzo Billaahi Minash Shaitaan Nir Rajim
Bismillaah Hir Rehman Nir Rahim ; Allah - Beginning With The Name Of - The Most Gracious, The Most Merciful.
Allahumma Salli Alaa Sayideena Muhammad Wa Alaa Aalihi Wa Sahbihi Wa Sallim.
Once a couple with their children visited Ajmer to perform Ziyarat in the 1978 Urs of Hazarat Khwaja Sahib. In the maddening crows they were seperated. Soon the husband and wife were united and later on the daughter also was found. But the 7 year old son could not be traced, as the day was trampled to death by the crowd. Some of the volunteers found the dead boy and brought it out in the coutyard. No sooner did the weeping parents saw their dead son they began wailing. They could not believe that instead of receiving blessings and gifts at this holy place, they were being deprived of their only son. They were extremely aggrieved and disheartened. Soon a crowd gathered around them and an old darvesh appeared. He asked the old lady to give him alms in the name of Allah and said that everything would be well. The sad mother gave a five rupee note to the darvesh who after accepting it whispered some Qur'aanic verses on the dead boy his hand. By the Grace of Allah the boy got up and embraced his mother. Everyone watching the sorrowful eventturned joyful. But when the woman turned to thank the darvesh, he had disappeared.

For, it is evident from the impregnable(Spiritual) fortification (hasn-o-hasin).
An opening verse (matla) in praise of your attributes I offer;

Oh ye, whose threshold is an altar (qiblah) for the faithful; (ahl-i-yaqin).
Where the sun and the moon rub their forehead.
It is thy royal threshold that faces are in reverence rubbed;
By hundreds of Kings (maliks) of the stature of the Emperors (khusro) of China.
The attendants (Khadiman) at thy shrine are all like the keeper of Paradise (Ridwan);
As is your mausoleum (roza) in sanctity certainly a sublime Paradise.

Khwaja Sahib and Shepherd
One day, Khwaja Sahib (Rahmatullahi Allaih) was sitting near Anna Sager, A shepherd with some calves passed by, He said to the shepherd, " Dear give me some milk. "The Shepherd took it as a joke and said " Baba, they are calves and do not give milk. Khwaja Sahib ( (Rahmatullahi Allaih)) smiled and pointed towards a female calf and said, "Brother, I will take her milk." When the shepherd laughed, Khwaja Sahib (Rahmatullahi Allaih) insisted, "Just see". The shepherd was very much surprised when he saw that her udders had become large and were full of milk. So he milked the calf which was enough for 40 persons. Seeing it, the Shepherd fell into the feet of Khwaja Sahib (Rahmatullahi Allaih) and became his disciple.
Seerat-e-Paak - Khwaja Garib Nawaz
Seerat-e-Paak - Khwaja Garib Nawaz :
Hazrat Khwaja shaib was an unusual person right from his childhood. Even as a chid he was generous and kind. Once he gave his share of mother’s milk to a hungry child. At the age of 4, he used to invite poor children and feed them. When he was a young boy he noticed on the occasion of Eid that a boy had no new clothes were torn and dirty. Hazrat khwaja shaib took him home and gave his own new clothes to the poor boy and also fed him.
During his adolescence his father passed away and Hazrat Khwaja sahib looked after his orchard and mill. But he always fed the poor and the passerby. To gain knowledge and enlightenment he decided to travel to Bagdad. He sold off his mill and orchard and distributed the proceeds among the poor and needy and proceeded in search of true knowledge.
Hazrat Khwaja sahib respected his elders and helped the widows and old women. He was always studying and helping others and feeding the poor. He always saluted first. His dress was simple and clean, no doubt his cloak had numerous patches. He used to mend his own clothes. Hazrat Khwaja sahib was an humble, sober and pious man. He spent most of his time in prayers & meditation. He used to recite the whole Qur’aan once during the day and once in the night. Often he used to say his morning prayers with the adlution (wuzu) of the late night prayers. He also fasted very often and ate very little at other times. He usually ate dry crusts of bread soaked in water or a cup of barley soup (delia)
Hazrat Khwaja sahib had great love for Allah and tried his best to please him. He also loved Allah’s Messenger (Blessings oh Allah and peace be on him) and followed the traditions i.e. hadis and sunnah implicitly. He advised his disciple and followers to do the same. It is said that he visited Makka and Madina every night with the help of his spiritual powers. During hajj season he was seen simultaneously in Makka and Ajmer. There were many eyewitnesses to his presence.
Hazrat Khwaja Sahib, being a great sufi saint, was endowed with supernatural powers by the Grace of Allah and by mediation (wesila) of Allah’s Messenger (Blessings of Allah and peace be on him). During his lifetime in the Middle East, Arabia and India he performed about 5000 miracles. The greatest miracle (karamat) being the selfless and dedicated service to humanity. His personality made people flock around him and his preachings made them embrace Islam. His missionary work in Ajmer was a success. Ignorance, superstition, oidilatory, corruption caste system was done away with. There was equality, social and spiritual advancement leading to reformation and liberation.
Hazarat Khwaja Sahib had read love and respect for his spiritual teacher (Murshad), Hazrat Usman-e-Harooni (Allah's Mercy be on him). He served him whole-heartedly for about twenty years and gained much knowledge. Hazarat Khwaja Sahib also loved his disciples and followers and treated them kindly. He prayed in the Ka’aba at Makka for the continuance and welfare of the Chistiyas and also for the good of everyone.
Hazarat Khwaja Sahib was famous for his generosity, magnanimity. Although he ate little, his kitchen was never cold. In his monastary (Khankah) there was a huge kitchen (langarkhana) and no poor and needy left hungry. His charitable nature, his being ever mindful to the needs of the destitutes and poor and needy earned him the title of Khwaja Garibnawaz (the one who endears the poor). Hazrat Khwaja Sahib used to pray to Allah lift a little corner to his prayer-mat and ask the cook to take for the daily expenses only the required amount.
Sultan Qutbuddin Aibak and Sultan Altamash had great regard and respect for Hazarat Khwaja Sahib. During their respective reigns, they used to send many gifts but Hazarat Khwaja Sahib used used to distribute them among the poor and needy. He never kept anything for himself. Even other rich Hindus and Muslim used to present him with gifts and money, but as usual he used to give them away to the poor and needy.
Hazarat Khwaja Sahib was also very kind and forgiving person. Once a man came to him with the intention to murder him but said a lie that he had come to pray. Hazarat Khwaja Sahib became aware of his murderous intention but he treated him well. Hazarat Khwaja Sahib then requested him to accomplish what was in his mind. This man was ashamed and begged for forgiveness and Hazarat Khwaja Sahib pardoned him. He embraced Islam and became a follower of Hazarat Khwaja Sahib.
One day an old woman came to Hazarat Khwaja Sahib and complained that the Governor had falsely accused her son and had murdered him. She begged for justice and requested Hazarat Khwaja Sahib to do something. Hazarat Khwaja Sahib accompanied by his devotees and the old woman reached the site where lay the dead body and the head together properly and prayed to Allah. He prayed that may Allah restore the life of the dead man as he was innocent. The young man got up hale and hearty by the Grace of Allah. The old woman and her son thanked Allah and Hazarat Khwaja Sahib for this miraculous favour.
Once Hazarat Khwaja Sahib was passing through a bazar with his disciple Sheikh Ali. Suddenly Ali was caught by his creditor who demanded immediate laon payment. Ali said that he would surely pay him but he would not listen. Hazarat Khwaja Sahib then promised that Ali’s dues would definitely be paid. But the creditor was adamant and this annoyed Hazarat Khwaja Sahib. He placed his blanket on the ground and by the Grace of Allah it was covered with gold and silver coins. He asked the creditor to take only his legitimate dues. But the greedy man helped himself to much more than necessary and instantly the money disappeared. But his hands were burnt and paralysed and he craved for mercy and begged forgiveness. Hazarat Khwaja Sahib forgave the man as usual and prayed to Allah to restore his hands to normal. The creditor went away, a much humble and honest man.
