Ghair Muqallideen (I.e, Wahhabism/salafism/Ahluhadith-ism) says that Imam bukhari (rd) was not Muqallid (Follower of any one Imam among 4 famous school of thoughts in Islam). This is what an open lie and total denial because authentic literature of Tabaqat deny this. Even their own scholars has written this in their books.

Some people’s narrative is that He was from Hanbali School of thought, thus Ahlu hadith/wahabi/salafi’s Guru Ibne Taymmiyah al-harani writes in his Fatawa Vol 25 Pp 232 that “Aima of hadith like, Bukhari, Muslim, Tirmizi, Nasai and a part from them some other Muhaditheen, were also opt to follow the verdict of Imam Ahmed and Imam Ishaq, Ibn al Rawhoya’s followers are also considered among those people who take the knowledge of Fiqh from them“.

In anyway! whether Imam Bukhari (rd) was following the madhab of Imam Ahmed bin Hanbal (rd) or Imam Shafi’e (Rd). Still this does not validate Wahhabi claims that he was not muqallad in both ways he will be considered as Muqallad. No one in entire history declared him or mentioned him as non-muqallad (non-follower of taqlid).

For such, regarding Imam Bukhari (rd), saying this that he was non-follower (ghair-muqallid) (like wahhabis) it is proven wrong. And even after that if someone say that, he was Mujtahid Mutlaq (Agreed Jurist), then his Fiqhi Maslak (rules of sharia / fiqh) was not been accepted (as school of thought) so he has no such Muttabe left behind (follower of established school) Imam Tirmizi was famous student of Imam Bukhari (Rd), he narrates Imam bukhari’s point of views but never mentioned his view in matters of fiqh. This also shows that by this act, Imam bukhari (rd) was considered only Muhaddith and he was not having other madhab regarding fiqh. He used to either accept the saying of Imam Shafi’e (rd) (for that matter) or either Imam Ahmed (rd).

But in Knowledge of Hadith, he was Mujtahid (The Jurist). and in the category of Aima of Hadith (Scholars of Hadith) he has higher status. Now in the end for counter question, eve if you (Wahabis) (Salafis) (ahlu hadis) still consider him (Ghari – Muqallid) , then still he was not that type of (ghari muqallad) which now a days you are. Reason is because! the religion of now a days (ghari-muqallid) consider 3 talaqs (divorce sayings) as 1 (as one sitting), but in the religion of Imam Bukhari (rd), he recognizes 3 talaqs as 3 talaqs in one majlis. (means at a time). Today’s (g-m)’s religion says that during menses period if talaq was given (divorce) it will not activate divorce. While In the religion of Imam Bukhar (Rd), the divorce is been activated. Today’s (ghair-muqallidins) shake hand with one palm while, in Imam bukhari (rd) was qail (accepter) of shaking hands with both hands.

Today’s (G-M) believe that Tahajjud Prayer and Taraweeh are the Same and One. While in fiqh of Imam bukhari (rd) Tahajud is considered separate prayer and Taraweeh is else.

G-M perform 8 rakah of taraweeh in ramadhan while, in the fiqh of Imam bukhari (rd) he was not qail of 8 rakah. (i.e, he also recognize 20 raka). Now a days’ G-M’s does not consider tabaruk (blessings) from Qaboor (graves), and call it haram, while the thing was different and opposite to this in case of Imam bukhari (rd).

Imam bukhari (rd) was in favour of seeking tabaruk (blessings) from Qabur (graves). For such is the proof that he started to writing his ‘Tareekh’ (history) while sitting near the Prophet (sal Allahu tala alehi wasalam)’s blessed grave (Rawdha e Nabawiyah).

Imam Ibne Athir (rta) mentioned Imam bukhari , Imam Muslim, Imam Abi Dawod, Imam Ahmed bin Hanbal, Imam Yahya bin Maeen, under the students of Imam Shafi’e. Like this is another reference by Ibn e Athir (Rta) that Imam Shafie was also among Shuyukh of Imam Bukhari (rta).

All of the Salaf and Khalaf were not only Muqallids but al-most all of them were Sufis too. Here first i will present famous scholar of Sunni Islam Imam Abi Dawood (rd) the famous writer of (Sunna-Abi Dawood) of Siha’h Sattah. He was also Muqallid. see the scans you will also find many more names, these all scholars and sufis are been mentioned and recorded in the history of Islam step by step. All are having same beliefs, still all are from 4 different schools of thoughts, whose difference is not in belief but only in the expression of certain issues in Sharia. This simple thing is never been taught by Wahhabism / Salafism / Ahle hadis-ism. You will not find any of the scholar mentioning themselves as Salafis, Wahabis, ahle hadiths, quranian etc etc. If some are been called Ashab al Hadith (people of Hadith) that does not means that they became (Ahle Hadith of now a days).

Another muhaddith Imam Ibn Hajar al asqalani was also following madhab of Imam Shafi’e (rd). Such that its proof that he was also muqallid from Shafi’e School of Thought. So if we apply the rule of today’s so called followers of Salaf i.e., Salafism, its proven that then we will have to consider all these famous scholars as polytheists. This is direct denial of Prophetic Rule, that Majority of the Ummah will be always on righteous way. So can we accept (Salafism’s Islam) or we still carry out Traditional orthodox authentic Sunni Sufi Islam.?

Important Point:
You will never find any salafi, wahabi, deobandi or ahle hadith at that time, but we find out a Sufi. Here i would like to explain little something which i think is important to know. the Word Sufism or Sufi is wrong term, actual word which is been used in this regard is (Tareeqat/Sufism). Why is it called Sufism now? In English language there are different terms of expressions, but there is one big problem that, if you want to call out someone e.g. an Elder citizen is standing in front and if you want to ask him something, we usually use the word (YOU) for that. No matter, the person is elder or younger. But in other languages there are different words of respect as per age difference. e.g in Urdu we use a word (AAP) as (You) for (Elders) and for others like friends or youngers we use (TUM) as (You). So. the word (SUFI) is taken by english terms because of ease for the usage, and because of vocabulary ease. e.g (S) is being pronounced while in reality (‘S’ufi is not from ‘Seen’ (س) word but from ‘Sa’d’ (ص) i.e. its not (Sufi . سوفی) but its (Sufi . صوفی) the, same is with ‘Tassawuf’ its not (تسوف) but its (تصوف) derived from ‘Sawf’. Anyway, because the words are in pronounciating called by (S) word in english, so they give it their own term for use of ease as (Sufism). Thus Point which i like to mention here is, that, Syaduna Owais al Qarni was a Sufi, everybody knows that, there are silsila’s towards him. Sufis and his followers in the matters of Tareeqat are still in the world from that time. Thus. Lahabi/Wahabi/Salfi etc etc etc. All are liars because Tassauwf was even at the time of Prophet (alehisalatowasalam) and even before the time of the Prophet alehi salato wasalam, e.g the story of Moses and Khidhr alehisalam’ Tassawuf was there. So saying that, Sufism is new innovation in Islam is totally bias and wrong and a gross lie, without any valid grounds to believe in.
I hope, this little explaining would be enough for those objections . And yes kindly don’t make us laugh by saying that now Imam hafidh ibne Adi was a barelvi sufi (lol) The real innovation is you (Wahhabism) in itself. Repent and be a Muslim not a (Lahabi).
Imam Abdul-Wahhab al-Sha’raani (Rta) writes in his book Mukhtasar al Itiqad li Imam al Bayhaqi (Short-(intro) to Belief of Imam bayhaqi). In this book, in the very beginning Imam Sharani is telling us about Imam Bayhaqi’s Teachers. The very first of them whose name is been written in this book is Imam Abu Abd’uRahman al-Sulami, who was not only a famous Muhadith among Shayukh of Muhadiseen but also very famous Sufi.
This thing again proves this fact that, each and every famous Scholar, Imam , Shaykh, Muhadith was and is not only Muqallad (Follower of a School of thought among 4 major schools) but also somehow related to Tassawuf i.e. (Wrongfully pronounced Sufism).
